【环球华语2020年6月26日】市长庄德利宣布，多伦多市的自动超速执法（ASE，Automated Speed Enforcement）计划从7月6日开始向超速驾驶者开罚单。这意味着，司机一旦看到自动测速执法（automated speed enforcement，ASE）标志，就要打起十二分精神！千万一定要小心！
ASE标志代表着一台自动罚单机器就在不远处，如果你不减速，即便身边没有警察，但是罚单一定会如约而至，寄到你家。ASE标志和机器的样子如下图.
该计划使用十字路口的摄像头拍摄超速驾驶者，以提高道路安全，减少超速，提高公众安全驾驶意识。为了实现这些目标，市府在全市范围内新安装了50部摄像机，包括靠近学校的社区安全区以及市区主干道。多伦多市每个选区都会安装2部摄像机，用于捕捉和记录超过限速的车辆行驶图像，这些系统是移动的，每3-6个月在不同的选区内变换地址。
新的摄像机安装之前90天，该交通路口会贴出即将推出-Coming Soon的宣传标志，宣传期内不会开出罚单。如果在ASE强制区域检测到车辆行驶超过限速，无论驾驶员是谁，车主都会受到罚单。罚款总额包括按比例受害人罚款附加费和适当的法庭费用，违例者只需要支付罚款，不会被扣分。
超速1km/h-19km/h，每1km/h罚$5元，也就是$5-$95。
超速20km/h-29km/h，每1km/h罚$7.5元，也就是$150-$217.5。
超速30km/h-49km/h，每1km/h罚$12元，也就是$360-$588。
这意味着，司机超速49km/h将会受到$588元的罚款，外加$130元的受害者附加费和法院费用，一共为$718元。罚单直接寄到司机家里。
此计划获市议会批准后，马上在50个交通路口安装了摄像机，市府在开出罚单之前90天已经开始宣传，原本计划在4月实行，因为新冠疫情爆发，而不得不推迟至7月。2月和3月计划暂停期间，市府人员向超速司机发出了2万5千封警告信。超速摄像头和红外线摄像头可以在多伦多198个交通路口发现，详细地点如下：
